What this site collects

The public website collects information only when you choose to provide it. The confidential inquiry form may include name, organization, title, business email, phone, nature of inquiry, mandate, timing, message, and confidentiality preference. White paper downloads collect first name, last name, and email so Harold can follow up with readers. Phone is optional, but recommended so Harold can continue a confidential conversation by phone when a paper is relevant to a live mandate. Email is confirmed with a one-time code sent to that address. When provided, phone numbers are checked for a valid format. Email and phone are retained, and a download count is kept for each paper. That confirmation does not create a site account.

Newsletter signup collects the first name and email address you submit. These details are saved even if you do not confirm your email, and the address is marked as unvalidated until you confirm it. Newsletter emails are sent only to confirmed subscribers who have not unsubscribed.

How information is used

Inquiry information is used to evaluate the request, respond, and keep an auditable record of qualified conversations. White paper download details, including email, phone, and how many times each paper was downloaded, are stored so Harold can follow up with readers. This information is not published, sold, or used to generate unreviewed resumes or other public documents.

Retention

Inquiry records are retained for up to 24 months unless a longer period is required for an active search, engagement, or legal obligation. You may request deletion by emailing me@haroldheard.com.

Newsletter signup records, including unvalidated addresses, are retained until deleted. Expiration of a confirmation link does not delete the signup record. Unsubscribing stops newsletter delivery; you may also request deletion using the email address above.

Analytics and downloads

Privacy-safe analytics may record page views and resume downloads. Resume download does not require contact details. White paper PDFs are released after first name, last name, and an email confirmed with a one-time code. Phone is optional but recommended. Do not submit confidential candidate or recruiter information except through the contact form.

When enabled, Google Analytics records public-page visits to help understand site traffic. Page-view URLs omit query strings, and signup names and email addresses are not included in these page-view events. Google signals and ad-personalization signals are disabled.

The ARX Challenge saves game counts, wins, personal bests, and up to 20 recent round results in your browser's local storage. You can clear this record from Recent rounds or by clearing browser data. These scores are not synchronized across devices or linked to your newsletter email address. Anonymous Vercel analytics events may include game outcomes, times, moves, signup-request source, and Stone ARX clicks, but not names or email addresses. Outbound Stone ARX links include campaign parameters to identify this challenge as the source of a visit.

The ARX game collection also keeps an optional role preference, unfinished rounds, lifetime counts, personal bests, earned achievements, up to 200 recent rounds, and up to 3,000 daily results on your device. Use Clear collection record to remove these records. Gameplay does not collect names, email addresses, mobile numbers, or public display names. Account synchronization, public team competitions, and game reminders are not connected in this guest release. Optional newsletter signup continues to use the separate consent and email-confirmation process described above.
