Hello friends,

Welcome to the first issue of Being Heard, Again.

I’m starting this newsletter to share what I’m working on, what I’m learning, and the experiences that shape my perspective. Some of you know me through technology and business. Others know me through family, church, or a conversation that became a friendship. I’m glad you’re here.

My work brings me into questions about how organizations operate, how technology can help, and what it takes to turn an idea into something useful. My family and faith shape how I approach those questions, and how I think about the time we have.

You’ll find a mix of those things here. Every issue will include a prayer, with opportunities to give when there is a specific need to share.

The question I keep asking about AI: What will it help someone do better?

When I look at artificial intelligence, I want to understand the work it can improve. Can it help someone find reliable information, make a better-informed decision, or spend more time serving a customer? Those are the outcomes that interest me.

My approach starts with the problem and the people doing the work. From there, I want to understand the information AI will use, how its results will be checked, and who remains accountable for decisions. In future issues, I’ll share the developments I’m watching, where I see practical value, and the questions I believe leaders should ask before adopting them.

What I’m building with Stone ARX

Stone ARX remains a major focus of my work. I’m building toward a connected real estate operating environment that brings property information, people, and the work around a transaction into a shared context. The purpose is practical: help participants coordinate, reduce repeated work, and give property owners greater control over the information connected to their property.

That vision includes the professionals and institutions people already depend on: agents, brokers, title companies, lenders, service providers, and government offices. As I share progress here, I’ll distinguish what is available today from what we are developing and where we intend to go.

Making time for the conversations

I recently enjoyed meeting people in Arlington and getting to know some of them better over lunch. I appreciated the chance to learn about their work and the teams around them.

Those conversations matter to me. They create room to ask questions, understand another person’s experience, and discover where there may be something worth exploring together. I want to keep making time for that as Stone ARX grows and my work continues.

My family and I will be attending the DFW Technology Prayer Breakfast on October 22, 2026, at the Irving Convention Center in Irving, Texas, from 6:30–9:30 a.m. I’m looking forward to a morning of prayer, fellowship, and encouragement—and I would love to see you there.

Family

Making room for what matters most

Since losing my wife, Sindy, family and faith have been especially close to my heart. She remains deeply loved, and the life we shared will always be part of who I am.

I want this newsletter to leave room for that part of life, too—for family, memories, gratitude, and the things we are still learning to carry. There is work I want to accomplish, and there are people I want to be present for. Both deserve my attention.

A Prayer for Purpose and Peace

Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands upon us; yes, establish the work of our hands! — Psalm 90:17 (ESV)

Heavenly Father, we place the work of our hands and the concerns of our hearts before You. Guide us toward what is worth building, and give us wisdom to recognize what we need to release. May our decisions reflect integrity, our words offer encouragement, and our efforts serve others well.

When grief makes the day heavy or uncertainty clouds the road ahead, steady our hearts. Help us be present with the people we love and patient with what we cannot yet understand. Bring comfort to those carrying sorrow and renewed strength to those quietly struggling.

Establish our work according to Your will. Help us receive today with gratitude and take our next step with faith, trusting that You are with us.
